Security-sensitive PDF tools

Use the right tool for the trust problem you are solving. Passwords, redaction and unlocking are different workflows.

  • Protect PDF adds password access to a finished file.
  • Redact PDF removes sensitive information before sharing.
  • Unlock PDF is for files you own or have permission to modify.
  • Flatten PDF locks forms, signatures and annotations into page content.
  • PDF Security tools groups password, redaction, unlocking and repair workflows.

AI and OCR document review

AI tools are useful for reading, summarizing and asking questions about long documents, but important answers should always be checked against the source PDF.

AI PDF tools covers Chat with PDF, Summarize PDF, OCR PDF, Translate PDF, Compare PDF and PDF Question Generator.

Trust questions

PDFBEAR processes uploaded files for the tool action you request. Files are handled automatically; no human review is part of the normal workflow.
When should I use Protect PDF, Redact PDF or Unlock PDF?
Use Protect PDF to add password access, Redact PDF to remove sensitive content, and Unlock PDF only when you own the file or have permission to remove restrictions.
Can I delete my files?
You can delete files from your file manager. File retention also depends on account status and activity, as described in the Privacy Policy and Security pages.
