How to fill in the inventory count sheet

  1. Assign a sheet number and count area so stock from two shelves or rooms is not mixed together.
  2. Record each SKU, description and unit before writing the physical quantity found during the count.
  3. Compare the physical result with the recorded quantity and flag damaged, missing or misplaced stock.
  4. Have the counter and reviewer resolve material differences before the inventory system is updated.

Questions

What is the difference column for?

Subtract the recorded quantity from the physical count. A difference points to a receipt, shipment, damage or entry that needs checking.

Can two people use the same sheet?

Yes. Put both names in Counted by, or have one person count and another verify selected lines.
